IUCLAND – International University Cooperation on Land Protection in European-Asiatic Countries, is an educational project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme under the Key Action 2 on “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”.
The aim of IUCLAND is to foster international cooperation among partner Universities through the implementation of training activities (namely summer schools and workshops) dedicated to the topic of Land Degradation. Indeed, the project promotes international cooperation at both regional and cross-regional level, by allowing the interaction among European, Far East Asian Central Asian partners.
The project implementation period is from 2015 to 2018.
Land degradation is a global problem, affecting about a quarter of the world’s land area (FAO, 2013) and impacts one out of three people (UNCCD, 2013), compromising welfare levels of populations that heavily depend on natural resources.
The International Winter School, entitled "Involving Rural Community in Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality" will held at Molise University, Campobasso (Italy) from 10th - 15th December 2018.
IUCLAND FINAL CONFERENCE will be held at Fujian Normal University (Fuzhou, China) on 21st - 23rd November 2018. The event, lasting 3 days, will provide a resume of the project regarding the Higher Education and the vision on the future of land conservation in EU and Central Asia. Part of the final meeting will be open also external stakeholders.
