IUCLAND – International University Cooperation on Land Protection in European-Asiatic Countries, is an educational project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme under the Key Action 2 on “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”.
The aim of IUCLAND is to foster international cooperation among partner Universities through the implementation of training activities (namely summer schools and workshops) dedicated to the topic of Land Degradation. Indeed, the project promotes international cooperation at both regional and cross-regional level, by allowing the interaction among European, Far East Asian Central Asian partners.
The project implementation period is from 2015 to 2018.
Land degradation is a global problem, affecting about a quarter of the world’s land area (FAO, 2013) and impacts one out of three people (UNCCD, 2013), compromising welfare levels of populations that heavily depend on natural resources.
The second workshop of the IUCLAND project will be realized on February 15th, 2017, starting at 9.00 CET. The workshop, that will be held in remote mode via Webex, will be dedicated to the topic "Land Degradation in Slovakia".
The first workshop of the IUCLAND project will be realized on December 1st, 2016, starting at 9.00 CET. The workshop, that will be held in remote mode via Webex, will be dedicated to the topic "Land evolution and degradation in Italy: the key indicator to monitor landscape vulnerability and degradation risk".
